AN ACT CONCERNING SURETY BAIL BOND AGENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to (1) allow a surety bail bond agent to request to the Insurance Commissioner the maintenance of such agent's license in inactive status for up to two years after the license's expiration date and establish procedures for the reinstatement of such license, and (2) exempt from examination and examination fee any surety bail bond agent who demonstrates to said commissioner that such agent has not executed any bail bonds in a given year.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide for an inactive status for a surety bail bond agent's license and to exempt from examination and examination fee any surety bail bond agent who demonstrates that such agent has not executed any bail bonds in a given year.
