AN ACT REQUIRING THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF THE STATE TO PROVIDE TIMELY NOTICE OF A TERMINATION OF LIEN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 33 of the general statutes be amended to require the Commercial Recording Division of the office of the Secretary of the State to: (1) Post on the Secretary of the State's Internet Concord System the filing of a "Termination of Lien" when a lien is terminated; and (2) purge a "Termination of Lien" one year from the lien's original lapse date or the date on which a "Termination of Lien" is posted on the Concord System, whichever first occurs.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Commercial Recording Division of the office of the Secretary of the State to update the Concord System in a timely fashion when liens have been terminated.
