AN ACT LIMITING EXCESSIVE SPENDING BY STATE AGENCIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require (1) each state agency to report, on or before April first of each year, to the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management the percentage of such agency's unspent budget remaining for that fiscal year, which percentage the secretary shall report to the Appropriations Committee, and (2) that each state agency shall then be limited to spending such reported percentage during the remainder of such fiscal year with the commissioner's approval.

Statement of Purpose:

To limit excessive spending by state agencies.
