AN ACT CONCERNING DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLANS FOR CERTAIN STATE EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require all state employees and officials hired on or after the effective date of this act to participate in defined contribution retirement plans rather than the current defined benefit system.

Statement of Purpose:

To require state employee retirement plans for newly hired state employees to be defined contribution plans rather than defined benefit plans.
