AN ACT PROVIDING HIGH PERFORMING SCHOOL DISTRICTS RELIEF FROM CERTAIN STATE EDUCATION MANDATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 170 of the general statutes be amended to relieve a local or regional board of education for a school district from certain education mandates if such school district is among the highest performing districts when measured using school performance index scores, as defined in section 10-223e of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide high performing school districts with greater flexibility regarding state education mandates.
