AN ACT CONCERNING STATE AID FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 10-76g of the general statutes be amended to require the state to reimburse a local or regional board of education for the total cost of its special education services when the total cost of special education for such school district is greater than the average cost of special education services for school districts throughout the state.

Statement of Purpose:

To achieve fairness in funding special education by reimbursing a school district for the total cost of its special education services when that school district's special education costs are greater than the average of all the state's school districts' special education costs.
