AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDS APPROPRIATED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require any funds appropriated to the Department of Developmental Services that are remaining in any account of said department at the end of each such fiscal year shall not lapse in accordance with section 4-89 of the general statutes and shall continue to be available to the Department of Developmental Services to be expended only for the purposes for which such appropriations were made or for the purpose of providing services to persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Statement of Purpose:

to ensure that unexpended funds originally appropriated to the Department of Developmental Services are not transferred to the General Fund or used for any purpose other than the provision of services to persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
