AN ACT CONCERNING THE PLACEMENT OF FLAGS ON THE GRAVES OF VETERANS PRIOR TO MEMORIAL DAY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-297 of the general statutes, which prohibits any town, cemetery association or ecclesiastical society from enacting bylaws restricting the placement of United States flags on veterans' graves from the Saturday before Memorial Day until the Monday after the fourth of July, be amended to prohibit such a restriction beginning on the Wednesday before Memorial Day.
Statement of Purpose:
To honor deceased Connecticut veterans by ensuring that ample time is afforded for the placement of flags on their graves prior to Memorial Day.
