AN ACT LOWERING THE EXCESS COST THRESHOLD FOR OUT-OF-DISTRICT SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (b) of section 10-76g of the general statutes be amended to reduce the reimbursement threshold for special education costs for out-of-district special education placements from four and one-half times the average per pupil cost to three times the average per pupil cost.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide relief to towns that provide special education to out-of-district students.
