AN ACT ALLOWING RETAILERS TO ADVERTISE TAX-FREE SALES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subdivision (4) of section 12-408 of the general statutes be amended to remove the prohibition placed on retailers forbidding them from advertising that taxes will be assumed or absorbed by the retailer, or that it will not be added to the sales price of the property sold, or that, if added, it or any part thereof will be refunded.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow retailers to advertise tax-free sale promotions.
