AN ACT CONCERNING A TAX CREDIT FOR CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2018, and applicable to taxable years commencing on or after January 1, 2018) Any municipality, upon approval by its legislative body, may allow a credit for any taxpayer against the property tax imposed pursuant to section 12-71 of the general statutes for any portion of the cost of purchasing an electric vehicle, as defined in section 16-19eee of the general statutes, hybrid electric vehicle, as defined in section 16-19eee of the general statutes or a motor vehicle that runs on biomass fuel.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To authorize municipalities to allow a property tax credit for electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles and motor vehicles that run on biomass fuel.
