AN ACT CONCERNING TEXT MESSAGES TO 9-1-1.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 28-24 of the general statutes be amended to require an upgrade of the Emergency 9-1-1 system to allow telecommunicators to receive text messages.

Statement of Purpose:

To permit the public to text telecommunicators in emergency situations.
