AN ACT CONCERNING CABLE SUBSCRIBER RIGHTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2010) No certified competitive video service provider, holder of a certificate of cable franchise authority or community antenna television company, as defined in section 16-1 of the general statutes, shall withdraw programming from its channel lineup during the contract renewal process for such programming. A violation of this section shall be deemed an unfair trade practice in violation of subsection (a) of section 42-110b of the general statutes.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To ensure consistent channel offerings for cable and satellite television customers throughout the channels contract negotiation period.
