AN ACT EXPANDING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THE TREATMENT OF MENTAL OR NERVOUS CONDITIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That sections 38a-488a and 38a-514 of the general statutes be amended to require health insurance policies to expand coverage for the treatment of mental or nervous conditions, including coverage for treatment by any health care provider an insured chooses and coverage for long-term hospitalization for any such treatment.

Statement of Purpose:

To expand health insurance coverage for the treatment of mental or nervous conditions.
