AN ACT CONCERNING PROMOTION OF LONG-LASTING, REVERSIBLE CONTRACEPTIVES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Health, to promote the use of long-lasting, reversible contraceptives to reduce adolescent pregnancy and abortion rates.

Statement of Purpose:

To replicate the successful reduction of adolescent pregnancy and abortion rates in Colorado, St. Louis, Missouri, and Gastonia, North Carolina, provide better outcomes for Connecticut children and create more sustainable families.
