AN ACT CONCERNING NOTICE OF CHILD NEGLECT BY A SCHOOL EMPLOYEE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 17a-101i of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Children and Families to (1) notify the State Board of Education when the commissioner has reasonable cause to believe that a child has been neglected by a school employee, and (2) share information with the State Board of Education concerning the commissioner's investigation of abuse or neglect by a school employee.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to notify the State Department of Education when DCF substantiates an allegation of neglect of a child by a certified school employee and to require DCF to provide information concerning an investigation of abuse or neglect of a child by a school employee directly to the State Department of Education.
