AN ACT PROHIBITING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WHO ABANDON RESIDENCY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require that an absence from the state exceeding thirty calendar days establishes a rebuttable presumption that Connecticut residency has been abandoned and that such absence establishes the cessation of public assistance benefits.

Statement of Purpose:

To institute a residency requirement for public assistance.
