AN ACT CONCERNING THE SPEED OF VESSELS ALONG CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE CONNECTICUT RIVER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision of chapter 263 of the general statutes, any vessel less than twenty-two feet in hull length, wholly or partially propelled by power, may travel at more than slow, no wake speed or twenty miles per hour on weekdays and thirty miles per hour on weekends when approaching, passing and travelling within seventy-five feet of any wharf, pier or dock in the city of Hartford between the railroad bridge north of Bulkeley Bridge over the Connecticut River and the southern limits of Hartford.

(b) For the purposes of this section and chapter 263 of the general statutes, "pier" does not include any bridge abutment located in a waterway.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To create parity between the restrictions for vessels travelling on lakes and those travelling on rivers in this state.
