AN ACT ALLOWING THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT'S REGIONAL CAMPUSES TO OFFER FOUR-YEAR DEGREE PROGRAMS THAT MEET SPECIFIC REGIONAL NEEDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 185 of the general statutes be amended to allow the branches of The University of Connecticut to offer, within available appropriations, four-year degree programs that meet specific regional needs.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide greater flexibility to students living in Fairfield County to attend The University of Connecticut closer to home and cut down on the brain drain caused by students leaving the state.
