AN ACT CONCERNING PUBLIC ACCESS TO INFORMATION ON TAX INCENTIVES RECEIVED BY BUSINESSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Revenue Services to maintain a listing of all corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and solely-owned businesses that have claimed a deduction, credit, reduced tax rate or exemption under any statute or regulation, and the value to the corporation, partnership, limited liability company or solely-owned business of such tax treatment. Such listing shall be available to the public.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide necessary information for lawmakers to evaluate the effectiveness of and necessity for tax incentives, to determine their efficacy in job creation, and to encourage public awareness of such incentives.
