AN ACT CONCERNING WATER TABLE CONTAMINATION IN THE TOWN OF DURHAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) Not later than February 1, 2012, the Department of Environmental Protection, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, shall submit a report to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the environment on the efforts by said department to understand, analyze and act on the contamination of the water table in the town of Durham. Such report shall include, but not be limited to, a description of the causes and extent of such contamination, the effects of such contamination, options for resolving any negative effect caused by such contamination, the department's recommended options, the reasons for such recommendations and a proposed timeline for the implementation of such recommended options.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To require the Department of Environmental Protection to address the contamination of the water table in the town of Durham.
