AN ACT CONCERNING TEXTING WHILE DRIVING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 14 of the general statutes be amended to provide for a penalty schedule for using any device in order to generate a text message while operating a motor vehicle that mirrors the penalty schedule for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a new level of penalties for texting while driving.
