AN ACT PROHIBITING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS ABSENT FROM THE STATE FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require that any recipient of public assistance who is absent from the state for more than thirty days loses public assistance and that such absence establishes a rebuttable presumption of abandonment of Connecticut residency.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit public assistance for persons who leave the state for more than thirty days.
