AN ACT REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF CERTAIN GRANTS AWARDED UNDER THE CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 9-705 of the general statutes be amended to reduce the amount of grants awarded under the Citizens' Election Program for general election campaigns (1) from twenty-seven thousand eight hundred fifty dollars to fifteen thousand dollars for qualifying candidates for the office of state representative, and (2) from ninety-four thousand six hundred ninety dollars to thirty-five thousand dollars for qualifying candidates for the office of state senator.

Statement of Purpose:

To reduce the amount of grants awarded for general election campaigns to General Assembly candidates participating in the Citizens' Election Program.
