AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF ANIMALS, FISH OR BIRDS AS PRIZES AT ANY CARNIVAL, FAIR OR GAME OF CHANCE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 53-250 of the general statutes be amended to (1) prohibit giving any animal, fish or bird as a prize or award at a carnival, fair, raffle or other game of chance where participation requires monetary consideration, and (2) make the violation of this provision a misdemeanor where the penalty is a fine.

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent animals from being awarded as prizes at games of chance, carnivals and fairs.
