AN ACT REQUIRING THE LICENSING OF CERTAIN LANDSCAPING COMPANIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2013) (a) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, to: (1) Establish qualifications for the licensing of landscaping companies that employ not less than three employees; (2) establish an application process for such companies seeking a license; (3) establish standards of professional and ethical conduct for such companies; (4) publish a code of ethics for such companies; and (5) establish such reasonable rules and regulations as the commissioner may deem necessary regarding the licensure of such companies.
(b) On and after the adoption of regulations pursuant to subsection (a) of this section, no such company shall engage in landscaping for profit unless such company holds a license issued by the Commissioner of Consumer Protection.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
