AN ACT LIMITING THE APPLICATION OF "BAN-THE-BOX" PROVISIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to exclude prospective employees who will be working directly with children as employees of local and regional boards of education from "ban-the-box" provisions that prohibit employers from inquiring about a prospective employee's prior arrests, criminal charges or convictions on an initial employment application.

Statement of Purpose:

To limit the application of "ban-the-box" legislation.
