AN ACT PERMITTING A NONATTORNEY SOLE SHAREHOLDER OF A CORPORATION OR A NONATTORNEY SOLE MEMBER OF A LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY TO REPRESENT SUCH CORPORATION OR COMPANY IN A LEGAL PROCEEDING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 51-88 of the general statutes be amended to permit a nonattorney sole shareholder of a corporation or a nonattorney sole member of a legal liability company to represent such corporation or company in a legal proceeding.

Statement of Purpose:

To permit an individual who is not an attorney but who is a sole shareholder of a corporation or a sole member of a legal liability company to represent such corporation or company in a legal proceeding.
