AN ACT REQUIRING PARENTAL NOTIFICATION OF ABORTION PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON MINORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 19a-600 and 19a-601 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit a medical provider from performing an abortion upon an unemancipated minor under eighteen years of age, unless the provider has given not less than forty-eight hours of actual notice of the intent to perform the abortion to at least one parent or legal guardian of the minor.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish parental notification requirements for abortion procedures performed on persons who are less than eighteen years of age.
