AN ACT CONCERNING THE AVAILABILITY OF FOLIC ACID SUPPLEMENTS TO INDIVIDUALS RECEIVING FREE BIRTH CONTROL PILLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that any health care provider who supplies free birth control pills to an individual shall also make free folic acid supplements available to the individual.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the availability of folic acid supplements for women using free birth control pills in order to reduce the risk of birth defects.
