AN ACT CONCERNING THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT AND THE PROCESSING OF A SPECIAL MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR'S LICENSE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That (1) section 14-36m of the general statutes be amended to increase the residency requirement to obtain a motor vehicle operator's license pursuant to said section, and (2) the appropriation to the Department of Motor Vehicles be reduced for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017, by the amount that was to be used to hire temporary employees to process applications for a motor vehicle operator's license received pursuant to said section.

Statement of Purpose:

To reduce the costs associated with the drive-only license by increasing the residency requirement.
