AN ACT INCLUDING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE BENEFITS IN INCOME ELIGIBILITY DETERMINATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services, to the extent permissible under federal law, to consider the value of public assistance benefits received from any one social service program in the determination of income eligibility for other state public assistance programs.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that aid received from public assistance programs is included in income eligibility determinations for other such programs.
