AN ACT REMOVING A RESTRICTION ON THE AMOUNT CHARGED FOR TENANT SECURITY DEPOSITS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (b) of section 47a-21 be amended to remove the prohibition on landlords requiring a security deposit in excess of two months' rent.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow landlords to charge an amount greater than two months' rent for a security deposit.
