AN ACT REQUIRING NOTIFICATION OF A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN IN CASES WHERE A MINOR SEEKS TO TERMINATE A PREGNANCY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-601 of the general statutes be amended to require that in any case where a minor seeks to terminate a pregnancy the parent or legal guardian of the minor shall be notified prior to the termination of the pregnancy.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that the best interests of a minor are protected when facing an unplanned pregnancy.
