AN ACT REQUIRING COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION OF NEW RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES FOR OFFENDERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Correction to provide written notice to the chief executive officer of any municipality where a residential program for offenders is proposed to be located not less than thirty days prior to the commissioner entering into the agreement or lease concerning such program.
Statement of Purpose:
To require advance notice to communities regarding the siting of residential facilities for offenders.
