AN ACT CONCERNING THE SOLDIERS, SAILORS AND MARINES FUND.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to transfer the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund from the custody of the Treasurer as trustee of the fund to the American Legion to administer and make awards from the fund, to permit the American Legion to use up to thirty per cent of the fund's interest and principal for administrative purposes and to require the American Legion to report on the status of the fund annually to the Office of Policy and Management and the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations, finance, revenue and bonding and veterans' and military affairs.
Statement of Purpose:
To foster the long-term financial stability and assistance provided by the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund.
