AN ACT CONCERNING VETERINARIANS AND DRUG PRESCRIPTIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 384 of the general statutes be amended to require a veterinarian, when prescribing drugs for an animal, to screen such animal for potential drug therapy problems and to provide the animal's owner with relevant information about the properties, dosage and administration of such drugs.

Statement of Purpose:

To require veterinarians to take precautionary measures when prescribing drugs for animals and to provide animal owners with relevant information about the drugs.
