Relative to California Heroes Month.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SCR 97, Anderson. California Heroes Month.
This measure would recognize September 2014 and each following
September as California Heroes Month.
WHEREAS, Heroes hold concern for other people in need -- a concern
to defend a moral cause, knowing there is a personal risk and acting
without expectation of reward; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of a Heroes Month, wherever in the nation it
is established, is to honor, recognize, and pay homage to those acts
of kindness and selfless courage by individuals, groups,
organizations, institutions, small businesses, or corporations; and
WHEREAS, A California Heroes Month affords an excellent
opportunity for our state to protect, uphold, and expand our country'
s values by simply appreciating and empowering the spirit of heroism;
and
WHEREAS, A California Heroes Month is a magnificent opportunity
for the residents of California to educate the public on the
importance of selflessly giving and recognizing those local
conventional, nonconventional, and unsung heroes within each
community; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, the Assembly
thereof concurring, That the Legislature hereby recognizes the month
of September 2014, and each following September, as California Heroes
Month, thereby honoring the valuable contributions of those
Californians who uphold the character of heroism; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of this
resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
