2023–2024 REGULAR SESSION
Senate Bill
No. 1440
Introduced by Senator Laird |
February 16, 2024 |
An act to amend Section 8843 of the Water Code, relating to flood control.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 1440, as introduced, Laird.
Flood control: assessments: maps.
Existing law regulates the preparation of maps for assessments levied by the Central Valley Flood Protection Board. Existing law requires that each map be given a distinctive number and designation and that each tract of land be designated on the map by a distinctive number. Existing law provides that any reference to a map and tract is sufficient description of the tract for various purposes, including proceedings based upon the assessment.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision relating to map references.
