   An act relating to parole.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 1399, as introduced, Leno. Parole: medically or mentally
incapacitated inmates.
   Existing law generally regulates parole.
   This bill would declare that it is the intent of the Legislature
to later amend this bill so that it will provide the Secretary of
Corrections and Rehabilitation with authority to release medically or
mentally incapacitated inmates to supervised parole.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to later amend this
bill so that it will provide the Secretary of Corrections and
Rehabilitation with authority to release medically or mentally
incapacitated inmates to supervised parole.
