An act to amend Section 6220 of the Family Code, relating to domestic violence.

AB 3072, as introduced, Petrie-Norris. Domestic violence prevention.
Existing law establishes the Domestic Violence Prevention Act, and provides that the purpose of the act is to prevent acts of domestic violence, abuse, and sexual abuse and to provide for a separation of the persons involved in the domestic violence for a period sufficient to enable them to seek a resolution of the causes of the violence.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 6220 of the Family Code is amended to read:

6220.
 The purpose of this division is to prevent acts of domestic violence, abuse, and sexual abuse abuse, and to provide for a separation of the persons involved in the domestic violence for a period sufficient to enable these persons them to seek a resolution of the causes of the violence.
