| Introduced by Assembly Member Thurmond |
January 31, 2017 |
An act relating to school districts.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 261, as introduced, Thurmond.
School districts: governing boards: pupil participation.
Existing law establishes a system of public elementary and secondary schools in this state, and authorizes school districts and other local educational agencies to operate schools and provide instruction to pupils in kindergarten and grades 1 to 12, inclusive.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would ensure that pupils have a role within the governing board of a school district.
