Assembly Bill
No. 2211

Introduced by Assembly Member Cervantes

February 07, 2024

An act to amend Section 39 of the Insurance Code, relating to insurance.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 2211, as introduced, Cervantes. Insurance.
Existing law establishes the Department of Insurance, headed by the Insurance Commissioner, which regulates insurers and insurance practices in the state pursuant to the Insurance Code. Under existing law, if a provision of the code or the application of a provision to a person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the code, or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances, is not affected.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision governing invalidity and the application of the code.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 39 of the Insurance Code is amended to read:

39.
If any a provision of this code, or the application thereof of a provision of this code to any a person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of the code, or the application of such the provision to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected thereby. by that invalidity.
