An act relating to anaphylaxis.

Anaphylaxis prevention.
Existing law sets forth the licensure and regulation of child daycare facilities by the State Department of Social Services. Existing law states the intent of the Legislature to encourage any person who provides childcare in a licensed child daycare facility to have certain elementary health care training, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid.
Existing law requires school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools to provide emergency epinephrine auto-injectors, as defined, to school nurses and trained personnel who have volunteered to use epinephrine auto-injectors under emergency circumstances, as specified. Existing law authorizes school nurses and trained personnel to use epinephrine auto-injectors to provide emergency medical aid to persons suffering, or reasonably believed to be suffering, from an anaphylactic reaction.
Existing
law sets forth the powers and duties of the State Department of Public Health in various areas of child and adolescent health, including certain health requirements relating to child daycare facilities and educational institutions.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to anaphylaxis prevention training and education in child daycare facilities and educational institutions.
