An act to amend Section 22060 of the Streets and Highways Code, relating to trees.

AB 1614, as introduced, Mullin. Tree removal.
The Tree Planting Act of 1931 authorizes a board of park commissioners, a park department, or other similar municipal authority having control of or jurisdiction over parks, trees, shrubs, and vegetation in a municipality to remove any tree or part thereof if it appears to be dead, is dangerous, or is an obstruction to public travel, including trees on private property, as specified.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 22060 of the Streets and Highways Code is amended to read:

22060.
 The board may remove any tree or any part thereof which that appears to be dead, is liable to fall, is dangerous dangerous, or is an obstruction to public travel, whether or not the tree is on any private property and overhangs or projects into any street or is in any street, park, parkway parkway, or other public grounds of the city.
