An act to amend Section 9537 of the Water Code, relating to flood
control.

	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1426, as introduced, Fuller. Flood control: bonds.
The Reclamation Board Bond Act authorizes the issuance of bonds of
the Sacramento and San Joaquin Drainage District if a majority of
the votes cast at the bond election are in favor of the issuance of
bonds. Existing law authorizes the board to levy assessments on land
in the drainage district to pay the principal and interest on the
bonds. If the assessment is not paid by specified dates, the parcel
of land that is the subject of the delinquency may be sold not less
than 30 days nor more than 90 days from the date of the delinquency.
This bill would extend from 30 to 45 days the time required before
a delinquent sale can occur.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 9537 of the Water Code is amended to read:
9537. The sale shall be held not less than 30
45 days nor more than 90 days from the date of
delinquency.
