   An act to amend Section 543 of the Public Resources Code, relating
to parks.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1302, as introduced, Monning. Parks: recreational activities.
   Existing law authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to
assist every department, commission, board, agency, and officer of
the state in rendering recreational services in conformity with their
respective authorized powers and duties and encourage and assist in
the coordination of federal, state, and local recreational
activities.
   This bill would additionally authorize department encouragement
and assistance in coordination of regional recreational activities.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 543 of the Public Resources Code is amended to
read:
   543.  The department may assist every department, commission,
board, agency ,  and officer of the state in rendering
recreational services in conformity with their respective authorized
powers and duties and encourage and assist in the coordination of
federal, state  and   ,  local  , and
regional  recreational activities.
