An act to amend Section 22015 of the Public Contracts Code, relating to public contracts.

AB 1019, as introduced, Chiu. California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission.

Existing law establishes the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission and requires the commission to recommend for adoption by the Controller uniform construction cost accounting procedures for implementation by public agencies in the performance of, or in contracting for, construction on public projects and cost accounting procedures designed especially for implementation by California cities with populations of less than 75,000. Existing law authorizes the commission to accept grants in order to assist the commission in carrying out its duties, functions, and powers.

This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the provision authorizing the commission to accept grants.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

 Section 22015 of the Public Contract Code is amended to read:

22015.

 (a) The Controller shall make available for the conduct of the commission’s business, such staff and other support as does not conflict with the accomplishment of the other business of the office of the Controller.

(b) Each member of the commission shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for travel and other expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of the member’s duties. Reimbursement rates shall conform to the Controller’s travel guideline rates.

(c) The commission may accept grants from federal, state, or local public agencies, or from private foundations or individuals, in order to assist it the commission in carrying out its the commission’s duties, functions, and powers under this chapter.
