SENATE RESOLUTION 1013

 

 

 

A RESOLUTION

 

recognizing Fire Chief Randy Redmond.

Whereas, on March 25, 2014, the Arizona Fire Chiefs Association recognized Sierra Vista Fire Department's Chief Randy Redmond as the 2014 Arizona Fire Chief of the Year; and

Whereas, Fire Chief Randy Redmond has dedicated nearly thirty years of his life to the fire service; and

Whereas, Fire Chief Randy Redmond successfully implemented an automatic aid system, an agreement among emergency responders to lend assistance across jurisdictional boundaries automatically, for his southern Arizona area; and

Whereas, Fire Chief Randy Redmond is currently working with the legislature to create a special license plate that would provide funding for the Arizona State Fire School, which provides high quality training for firefighters throughout the state.  Chief Redmond's dedication to securing funds for the restoration of the Arizona State Fire School illustrates his commitment to training and investing in future generations of firefighters; and

Whereas, Fire Chief Randy Redmond is currently working to secure funding for the creation of a Mutual Aid Resource Coordinator position in the Fire Marshal's Office, demonstrating his desire for increased coordination among the fire service community; and

Whereas, Fire Chief Randy Redmond has been a long-term member, as well as former chairman, of the Arizona State Fire Training Committee.  Additionally, he has been an active and valued long-term board member of the Arizona Fire Chiefs Association; and

Whereas, Fire Chief Randy Redmond has displayed unwavering dedication to the fire service year after year and has won the respect and admiration of firefighters and citizens across the State of Arizona.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona:

That the Members of the Senate recognize and honor Fire Chief Randy Redmond on his designation as Arizona's 2014 Fire Chief of the Year and thank him for his years of exemplary service.
