A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

 

proposing an amendment to the constitution of arizona; amending article IV, part 2, section 23, constitution of arizona; relating to public officers.

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

1.  Article IV, part 2, section 23, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

START_STATUTE23.  Passes and purchase of transportation by public officers; inapplication to national guard

Section 23.  It shall not be lawful for any person holding public office in this state to accept or use a pass or to purchase transportation from any railroad or other corporation, other than as such transportation may be purchased by the general public; Provided, except that this shall not apply to members of the national guard of Arizona traveling under orders.  The legislature shall enact laws to enforce this provision.

2.  The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
